Andrea sculpts each bead in the flame of an oxygen & propane fueled torch using dental tools and tweezers to shape the lavender buds from both soft and borosilicate glass rods.
The studio has several large workbenches along the windows for kilns, jewelry assembly, findings storage & organization.

Andrea experiments with hand fabrication using precious metals. Starting with sheet, wire and scrap metals she saws, solders, files, textures, forms, oxidizes and finally polishes each piece.

The studio workspaces have various mounted bench pins and vices available for sawing and clamping.

Making the lavender beads is a multi day process - here the beads are brought up to temperature in the kiln.

Controlled cooled (or annealed) beads coming out of the kiln on day two.

Cooled, soaked & cleaned beads becoming wearable jewelry.
